The Two Towers (Extended Edition) is monumental and very engaging, but a little bit bare-bones. First of all, the runtime is sizable for sure, boasting over three hours. However, most of the time something interesting and quite wonderful is happening. From hardy lines about sentiment to trouble over a bit of bad stew, to Sam's famous speech and Frodo's on-point response, this film has 'a lot to love.' The movie introduces a lot of stuff, but all welcome aditions to the narrative. The depth of the charcters in this movie and throughout the franchise is great (W Faramir). The battle for Helm's deep is fun, and the added scene of Legolas and Gimli tallying their scores makes the extended edition a must-watch for fans. This movie also has a really well done ending as a whole. I implore y'all to watch the Ext. Editions. Pretty much all of my favorite, and the most charming scenes are only included here. Character insight and coolness is cut in the theatrical release so...

Definitely an improvement over the first movie. The story is well-paced even though it is overstuffed. The characters have more interesting internal and external conflicts. Gollum and the Ents are a delight. Like the first movie, the technical aspects are amazing. The CGI looks amazing and the makeup is intricate. I also enjoy the WW2 parallels; they are interesting to think about. I still don't like the main characters and I think the way this movie gives exposition is boring, but I think this movie is still an improvement nonetheless. I am excited to watch the acclaimed finale to this trilogy.

The sequel to The Fellowship of the Ring, Two Towers expands and gets bigger and bigger with a rich plot and it's just epic. While it is mostly setup for the third movie, it's still epic. Like, really good. That's all I can say about it. Overall awesome.

One of my favorite movies. I am never bored watching this. The storyline is split three ways but each way manages to be very interesting.
