Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Across carries the momentum of the first Spider-Verse movie beautifully. It is an infinitely rewatchable masterpiece and unexpectedly great for a sequel. My favorite part of this movie is the dialogue. The writers did a fantastic job at giving every character something to say at every possible second. I'm amazed at how fast and fluid all of the conversations are. If Beyond is any good, we will have a perfect trilogy on our hands.

The sequel to Spider Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and the continuation of Miles Morales (and now Gwen Stacy) journey, is well mixed for me. It's very ambitious introducing lots of new places and characters along with rules as Spider Man. While it has stunning animation being a part one leaves lots of loose ends. Maybe it's because I had high expectations but I didn't think it was as good as the OG.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse doesn’t feel like a movie. It gets cut short in the middle of the plot, and much of what’s earlier is just filler and setup. This movie isn’t really bad; it just kind of left me confused and little bit uncomfortable due to all the twists and turns it takes (especially at the end) and multiple woke references. This movie also takes new bold risks with its animation styles, which works some but not all of the time. Also, almost all of the live-action cameos are so jarring! Some cameos and characters are only in here for fan service, and they overstay their welcome sometimes, most references and jokes falling really flat. That’s not to say the movie isn’t funny at all though. There were a few moments that cracked me up but those were few and far between. I did like the old characters and a few of the new new ones, but many key characters, like Spider-Man 2099 are very two-dimensional and don’t have any interesting character arcs due to this being only half of a movie. The action in this movie is pretty good with a few fun fight scenes here and there. I don't know, maybe I'll enjoy it more the second time. I overall didn’t hate the movie (there were some genuinely enjoyable parts), but most of it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

This movie was a very epic action movie. I enjoyed the whole thing, although the story could've used some work. Overall a great movie and I enjoyed it big time! Solid 85+ on every category.

Ok I don’t have the words to even begin to explain how I feel about this movie. I can’t even give you a proper comment since I refuse to spoil this movie! Since I’m not going to tell you about it, all I can say is the villain is the definition of 'the situation escalated from 0 to 100 real fricking quick'. I see nothing wrong with this movie and if anyone gives a review less than 100 or says otherwise I will personally send Miguel and the rest of the Spiders after you, you dang anomaly.
