The movie is an amazing and highly entertaining affair. Kurt Russel shines in this movie, as he always does, as a single father of a household of young boys who run rampant with little to no supervision. Russel’s character works as a handyman in the small town of elk cove in Oregon. He is hired by a rich, particularly rude client to build a dresser on a boat, and she refuses to pay him when the job is done. The next night, she falls off the yacht, hits her head, and loses her memory. Kurt Russel finds her in the hospital and makes her and the doctors believe she is his wife and the mother of his children. Hilarity ensues. This movie is genuinely hilarious and filled with memorable characters and great performances, as well as good cinematography and directorial choices. Some standout performances are Roddy McDowell as the incredulously based butler Andrew, Goldie hawn as Joanna, and the ever-amazing Kurt Russel as Dean Proffit. In conclusion, this film is incredibly funny with an intriguing premise and amazing performances all around. 'If any of you know the identity of this woman, please contact the hospital. I'll put up the reward myself... She's drivin' us crazy.'

Knives Out 2019

Solid film, I enjoyed the natural progression of Rian Johnson’s ability to handle subversion grow from 2017’s 'The Last Jedi'. Rian really has an eye for shot composition and complexity, as well as parallels and subtle background details that help establish and flesh out the characters. The plot itself is very enthralling (for the most part) with few lulls and an entertaining mystery. I am not a fan, however, of the trope of making the obvious bad guy the killer. I think it can work decently well the first couple of times you see it happen, but used excessively, it becomes passé. In conclusion: eat sh*t, eat sh*t, eat sh*t, eat sh*t, eat sh*t, eat sh*t

The Fog 1980

John Carpenter’s second horror film, immediately following his box office smash, Halloween. Often overlooked in Carpenter’s filmography, The Fog is dripping with atmosphere, along with a healthy portion of scary and startling scenes. The Fog takes the form of a classic ghost story, with a past act of depravity and selfishness inspiring ghosts of vengeance to rise up out of the sea a hundred years later and seek reparations for their unjust killings at the hands of the townspeople of Antonio bay. The story is a bit convoluted (a classic Carpenter fallacy), but the basic premise is incredibly easy to understand and enthralling. The special effects hold up, although there is no blood or viscera in the film, which is a directorial choice I do not agree with. The film features a star-studded cast, with especially good performances by Jamie Lee Curtis as Elizabeth Solley, Adrienne Barbeau as Stevie Wayne, and Hal Holbrook as the incredibly 'Based' Father Malone. In conclusion, The Fog is a fun and entertaining watch for anyone interested in the classic ghost story. 'To the ships at sea who can hear my voice, look across the water, into the darkness. Look for the fog.'
