Curious George

So much of this movie just baffles me. The tone conflicting humor, the odd relationships between different characters, the folk songs that keep playing, the fact that they added sci-fi to what's supposed to be a grounded children's book series, etc. By all accounts this movie should be terrible, but this movie manages overcome it's flaws. George and TMWTYH have a good dynamic, the voice acting is mostly good, there is some good animation, the humor is pretty solid, the score is good, and overall this movie has an enormous amount of charm to it that makes it impossible not to like this movie. If you're looking for a fun movie for family night, I highly recommend this.

A wholesome children's movie that I believe grown-ups can still appreciate. It is charming and innocent while maintaining the mood that comes from the TV series. The awkwardly inserted romance and the occasional cringey jokes are basically the only hiccups.
