Despite being years away from my childhood, Watership Down of all movies managed to bring back that vibe of dark childhood movies that really could only be felt as a kid. My reasoning for this was despite it probably being rushed in terms of story I got sucked into the world and was very much impressed by the lore. Also the Strawberry burrow genuinely had me creeped out and the ending had me on the edge of my seat. Not to mention but the violence is some next level stuff right here. I’m not being sarcastic, even though I’ve seen way more bloodier and gory movies, whenever there was blood I was actually surprised and terrified. Maybe it’s because of the animation style, (which was great by the way), because normally blood does not appear in old hand drawn animated movies. While I haven’t read the book I was still thoroughly captivated by it and would recommend overall

I feel like this is one of those movies where you really have to pay attention to know what's going on. Watership Down really impressed with me the storyline and the characters were pretty well devloped throughout the movie. My favorite character had to be General Woundwort; despite him being the antagonist, he had some cold lines and fun moments. This movie is very impressive for being released in 1978, as I thought it was a late 1990s to early 2000s movie. I didn't like how they only showed the dog for only a minute or two, considering it was a supporting/secondary antagonist. Great movie.

Readers of the book will likely appreciate the story much more. Major plot points are sped through and buildup for anything is virtually absent. Turbo-speed pacing aside, this movie is enjoyable but seeing as Kehaar never once said the word 'mudders,' I have no choice but to give this a zero out of ten.
