Not a terrible movie; it looks kinda weird though.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is probably the closest adaptation of both the comics and the shows. It incorporates as much as possible of the Turtles' likeness and the world around them as it can. This movie is also very experimental. It tries lots of new things for the first time, being the first live-action adaptation. This movie is very much a product of its time, a lot of pop culture references of that time being present and other stuff people thought was cool then. I liked when they were actually sneaky like ninja and how their personalities were distinct. A lot of this movie is just much of the same though, and some stuff just doesn't seem necessary to have in there. The costumes and CGI were decent and hold up pretty well. This is a movie that I have little to no nostalgia for, and its kind of just okay.

The first and, so far, best TMNT movie, it's honestly done really well. It balances out funny and serious/emotional scenes really well and is surprisingly gritty. Even its age isn't that big of a factor. Overall great movie and best TMNT movie so far.
