Revenge Of The Sith Is The 3rd Best Star Wars Movie
Kind of a joke but at the same time has some of the best stuff in all of Star Wars. It’s one of the most character focused Star Wars movies. It’s focused on showing the downfall of a hero rather than just being “pew pew lasers cool sword fight floating rocks.” If I’m being honest though I feel like Anakin’s downfall was a little rushed. It seems the two reasons why he becomes evil are 1. He is having nightmares of his wife dying and 2. Mace Windu is being a bitch. I don’t think that’s quite enough to turn someone against their family and murder children. I think the movie could’ve been longer to show more of his downfall because as is it feels like we are missing some scenes of him becoming evil. I also wish we had more time to see Obi Wan’s sorrow over Anakin’s turn to evil. I think we have like two scenes where he is sad. Again, this movie could’ve been way longer to explore this. That being said though, the scenes that do show this stuff are actually kind of amazing. It is very powerful and emotional. “You were my brother Anakin” is a line that has stuck with me ever since I was little. The fight scene between them both is very cool and emotionally impactful at the same time.
It’s also sad seeing a character like Yoda who we see as all powerful basically give up and hide. Order 66 is iconic and sad. The younglings scene is kind of a meme but in context it’s kind of terrifying. The stuff with Padme is also very sad and interesting. The dialogue in this movie is laughably bad, there are so many lines that have become memes because of how bad they are. It feels like I’m watching an anime dub honestly. Some of that might be because of the bad acting. It’s not very great. Overall I think George Lucas sucks at directing actors and writing dialogue, but good with action scenes and story. A lot of the CGI is also bad. There is hardly a moment where CGI isn’t being used, so a lot of the movie looks trash. This movie is a very mixed bag, but the stuff that works really works. Watch for the memes, stay for the emotion.
