Another Banger From Ben Shapiro
Catholics were once distrusted in the United States. Americans thought that they were trying to take over America and turn it into a theocracy headed by the pope. Churches were burned, deacons were killed, and signs that read “no Irish allowed” hung on doors. Today Catholics are seen as completely normal. It is simply another denomination of Christianity. JFK’s Catholicism was a massive controversy, but with Joe Biden nobody cared. It turns out that Catholics were not evil conspirators plotting the destruction of America. Maybe some, but not the majority.
History has seemed to have repeated itself with this movie. Do I support the teachings of Islam? No. Are there evil Muslim extremists? Absolutely. Are most Muslims plotting for the destruction of America? No. That can only be believed if you’re delusional. Like with Catholics, fear has caused many Americans to form the irrational belief that the average Muslim is a dangerous villain. They believe that Muslims must be expelled from America before they take over, before they “enter through our woman’s wombs,” which is something the movie actually says. Even the dumbest ideas can sound rational once you let emotions take control of you.
The movie itself is insanely boring. It can’t decide if it wants to be over-the-top or realistic. It’s boring and repetitive to try and be “gritty,” but then it cuts to a cartoonish action scene complete with terrible, unfunny quips. The characters fail at being likable, for some reason the movie makes a racist gamer one of the heroes. The villain feels like he’s ripped out of Team America. The movie in general is just Team America but played straight. You can’t fake writing this bad.
In the movie there’s a scene where the villain films people reading off of cards with propaganda on them, claiming that “it’s the truth.” Replace the cards with scripts and the villain with Ben Shapiro and you have an accurate depiction of the making of this movie.
