A pointless movie that insists that it's a masterpiece. I don't care about any character in this movie. I don't care about the plot. I fell asleep while watching this and I had to rewind it. I thought that the lead actress did a good job, and the other actors and actresses were good. The musical scenes are presented in a boring way. This movie has long scenes talking about how great music is, yet the scenes where people play music are unpassionate. The technical aspects of the movie were pretty good. The point is if I wanted to watch a movie about a conductor who abuses their students, I would just watch Whiplash.
