The second Sean Connery James Bond movie and the sequel to Dr. No, From Russia With Love expands heavily upon the James Bond formula, moving from slow burn to exposition and action. However with this comes a lot of unnecessary weight to the movie. Namely everything in between Bondd arrival in Istanbul up to Tania’s physical introduction. It’s not that it’s bad (except for the stupid gypsy dance) but in a 2 hour movie that doesn’t pick the story up till the second half it feels very unnecessary in hindsight. Now if the movie was shorter but still had this I think it would be fine. But instead it decides to have most of the plot take place towards the end of the middle and the have a ridiculously long ending that drags on with a short resolution. Other than that the whole premise was interesting and I liked there being more action. It’s just that the movie didn’t execute it to its full capacity that it could of done
