Based off of the Book and Radio show of the same name, War of The Worlds actually crosses a major milestone for me. That milestone is probably the maddest I have ever gotten at a movie. Man, this movie has such a great story. Steven Spielberg actually did a really good job with the tension and paranoia of the scenes and also just how good it looked. Like when Tom Cruise goes and looks at the open field filled with red roots flowing with blood and the red sun, man that went so hard. But oh my gosh the little girl in the movie is SO freaking annoying. She's constantly screaming and freaking out and just making wanna say shut the freak up to her. Also not to mention the son just wanting to dip on his family is annoying also. But the story is really good. Though I will say the pacing is a little wonky from a technical standpoint like going from a chaotic world ending beginning to a thriller paranoia scene but it fits the tone of the movie. Also the ending is just bad. The happy ever after just doesn't make sense and the son apparently surviving an explosion and with no explanation somehow making it all the way to Boston is also dumb. And let's not forget Morgan Freeman just popping up out of nowhere at the end just to say that a virus killed the aliens. Maybe I am giving this movie a bit too much credit than it deserves but I can't deny though, the beginning was great and all the scenes with Tim Robbins' character were great. Overall to some it up, I like the story but I hate the kids.
